Clawback still being looked at |

The meeting held at Ofcoms headquarters in London in June with dealers and the IMPDA was very well received. Ofcom was made aware of all the various ways dealers were clawed back by Mobile Network Operators, and evidence of the effects were produced in how it not only affected dealers but the consumer as well. It was the opinion of Ofcom that certain parts of clawback they were not happy with, especially the fact that no evidence is ever produced to the dealer to prove suspect fraud.
Ofcom certainly is of the opinion that there is a case to answer, and as such the details are being look at by a legal team prior to laying an official complaint to Ofcom. As always we would prefer to talk to all Networks to resolve or to discuss the issue. The issue of clawback needs to be discussed, dealers have a hard enough time as it is without continually being clawed back for every excuse going. The networks state that they support the dealer channel, but they dont seem to understand the pressure they themselves put on the dealer channel, and many dealers do not belive networks do, depite the words the networks say. It needs the networks to sit down and discuss the issues and for once show they mean what they say about supporting the channel, after all the independent dealers bring in huge amounts of connections for them, so its about time they stopped biting the hand that feeds them and increases the networks profits. Only time will tell, but the IMPDA and dealers will be back at Ofcom in the near future to further discuss the clawback issue. Comment (0) |
